Beaulieu Palace House and Park

There is plenty time to see everything Beaulieu park has to offer on this day trip - from unlimited rides on the monorail and visiting the car museum to clambering through the adventure playground and enjoying the gardens. Pupils of all ages love this trip.

Beaulieu Palace House (said "bew-lee") is a gothic country house from the 13th-century. It is home to Lord and Lady Montagu and reported to be one of the most haunted places in Britain. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and interesting exhibits and activities.

In the National Motor Museum, pupils can see some of the oldest and fastest cars in the world. Starting with just five cars in 1952, there are now 250 vehicles to see – including famous cars from James Bond, Mr Bean, Harry Potter and Dr Who. You can even see the car collection from above by taking a ride on England's first monorail!

There's an amazing adventure playground, pupils can climb aboard an old open-topped London bus and relax in the picnic next to the Abbey ruins.

80% of pupils survey responses said the trip to Bournemouth was "good", "very good" or "excellent" in summer 2022!

Taking care

We are careful to balance freedom to explore, which helps build confidence and independence, with supervision and support to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every pupil on our trips and excursions. All ECS trips are fully risk-assessed with a thorough 'what if' process to ensure we are prepared for every eventuality.

There are always at least two members of staff on each coach. Younger children are accompanied at all times with at least one member of staff with every six children. Older children (11+) can explore the grounds in small groups, with our staff nearby and always available to help. Pupils are advised to stay in pairs if they are away from the group, for example using the toilets.

As it is not easy to reach Beaulieu by public transport from Port Regis, we take a coach for this journey. Travelling together in one vehicle helps keep this excursion fuel-efficient, and reduces air pollution and carbon emissions. We always ask our providers about their green credentials.
