Adventure

Our optional 2-day adventure camps provide a change of scene, are lots of fun and help students to develop a closer understanding and appreciation of nature. They learn new skills, using and improving their English in natural contexts and learn to work more effectively as part of a team.

Bushcraft Survival Camp (Sibford only)
Students go ‘back to basics’ experiencing the challenges and excitement of sleeping out in the wild. Highly professional instructors teach fire lighting, shelter building, outdoor cookery, snaring and tracking. The students also learn expedition skills that they combine with their new bushcraft knowledge to complete a survival exercise. Evenings are spent round the campfire and the only electronic gadget allowed is one video camera to record the experience for everyone to take home on DVD.

Island Adventure (Port Regis aged 11-14 only)
This multi-activity camp takes place on beautiful traffic-free Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour off the coast of Dorset. Following in the footsteps of the very first Scouts who camped here in 1907, our students will enjoy sailing, kayaking, raft building, orienteering and archery as well as relaxing in the beautiful natural environment of this enchanted island.
