Educational workshops motivate students by enabling them to focus on specific interests and areas for improvement. They form a compulsory part of the morning programme on our course for teenagers at Sibford.

Digital photography
Students learn to avoid common photographic errors and take better pictures of people, landscapes, actions and abstract scenes. The students become more sensitive to their surroundings and their photos provide a good basis for discussion and writing.

Poetry
Students will learn the language of critical appreciation through the study of a Shakespeare sonnet. They will also write some of their own poetry. This is a challenging workshop for students with advanced English.

Creating a course journal

Students work as editors, journalists, writers etc, to produce a weekly journal that is circulated among students and published on the internet. This encourages attention to content, style and accuracy as well as enabling friends and relatives to view their work when they get home.

Grammar and pronunciation
Formal study and some lighter practise through games for students who feel they have reached a ‘plateau’ with their English or wish to concentrate on particular areas of weakness.
