In addition to the daily sports programme included in the course fee we also organise professional sports lessons at extra cost. The cost includes hire of equipment where necessary and certificates of attainment. For prices please see here

Port Regis (7 - 17 year olds)

Sports lessons at Port Regis are offered with qualified instructors for all ability levels in separate age groups 7 – 10, 11 - 14 and 14 – 17 as follows. 

  • Golf: 4 x 1hr lessons on our own 10-hole (18 tee) on-campus golf course. Lessons cover every aspect of the game including tee shots, bunker play, golf rules and etiquette. Maximum of 8 pupils per instructor.
  • Tennis: 4 x 1hr lessons from a Lawn Tennis Association qualified instructor. Maximum of 8 pupils per instructor. Lesson content will vary according to age and ability and will include warm-ups, exercises and games to develop agility, balance, coordination and speed; demonstration and practice of tennis skills; tactics and psychology; and guided matchplay.
  • Karate: 4 x 1hr lessons per week with pupils divided into ability groups within the same class. Karate involves listening to and responding to physical commands and internalising an increasingly complex sequence of movements. Pupils will develop strength, stamina and fitness and increase their mental focus while learning self-protection techniques. Lesson are given by a highly qualified 2nd degree black belt specialist with many years experience of working with children. 

Cheltenham (14 - 17 year olds)

  • Tennis4 x 1hr lessons from a Lawn Tennis Association qualified instructor. Maximum of 8 pupils per instructor. Lessons will include warm-ups, exercises and games to develop agility, balance, coordination and speed; demonstration and practice of tennis skills; tactics and psychology; and guided matchplay.
  • 'Fit for Life': this is a group fitness programme for pupils aged 16 and above. A qualified instructor will introduce pupils to a wide range of gym-based exercises using machines, free weights and their own body weight to develop strength, stamina and flexibility. The aim is to develop good exercise habits; and to teach safe, enjoyable techniques and routines that pupils will feel motivated to continue when they return home.
